Opportunities for emergency management volunteers

We are proud to share an exciting opportunity available for volunteers in the emergency management sector.

The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR) have just opened a round of the Emergency Management Volunteer Scholarships program. These scholarships support volunteers in the emergency and disaster management sector to access vocational and higher education in relevant fields.

Charles Darwin University (CDU) offers a range of educational programs in ‘Humanitarian, Emergency and Disaster Management’. Volunteers can choose to a full degree course OR selected units from a course, which could be supported by the AIDR Scholarship. Volunteers can study with us without disturbing their professional/personal commitments. CDU’s world-class online learning management system offers great opportunity to learn irrespective of student’s location.

POST GRADUATE STUDY OPTIONS:

Above course are nested within the ‘Master of Emergency and Disaster Management’. In other words, students can get all the credits from above courses transferred towards their master’s degree.

Alternatively, volunteers can also choose to study selected units to equip themselves with the skills and leadership required in the emergency and disaster management sector. Some of the popular units are as follows:

UNDER GRADUATE STUDY OPTIONS:  Bachelor of Humanitarian and Community Studies: 240 credit point course, can be completed in three years, full/ part-time
